North South University (NSU) observed the “National Library Day” spontaneously at NSU Campus on 5th February 2018, organized by the NSU Library. As part of the observance of this auspicious day for the first time, a seminar on “Promoting Awareness on using of Library and Information Services and Resources for Academic and Research” was held at NSU Auditorium at 3.00 pm.

Professor Atiqul Islam, Ph.D., Vice-Chancellor, NSU, and Professor Dr. Gias U. Ahsan, Pro Vice-Chancellor (D), NSU were the Chief Guest and Special Guest of the event respectively. They both delivered their valuable speeches at this august gathering. Dr. Md. Zahid Hossain Shoeb, University Librarian, NSU, and Dr. Md. Nazim Uddin, Head, Library and Information Services Section, ICDDR,B were the speaker of the seminar. Prof. Dr. Sharifuddin Ahmed, Chair, Department of History & Philosophy and former Director-General of Archive and National library also delivered his precious speech.

The auditorium was full to the brim by the faculty members, administrative staff, and students of NSU. Mr. M M Shoeb, Sr. Assistant Librarian anchored the program. The seminar ended with an interactive Question/Answer session.
