On February 5, 2024, North South University Central Library joyously marked the “National Library Day” under the theme ‘গ্রন্থাগারে বই পড়ি, স্মার্ট বাংলাদেশ গড়ি’. The celebration was inaugurated by the Honorable Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Atiqul Islam, who, along with Prof. Dr. Abdur Rob Khan, Honorable Treasurer, graced the event with their presence.
The library organized various on-campus activities to engage the NSU community in the celebration:
Activities Included:
- Remission of last two (02) weeks of library fines.
- Hanging banners at the NSU campus.
- Promotion of Library activities through the Library website and social media.
- Distribute badges to all library users and personnel.
- Cake cutting ceremony in honor of Library Day.
- Short procession and photo session within the NSU campus.

The festivities saw the participation of both freshers and regular students, creating a vibrant atmosphere on campus. The cake-cutting ceremony, inaugurated by VC Prof. Dr. Atiqul Islam, marked the official commencement of the National Library Day 2024 program.
Following the formalities, the Honorable Vice Chancellor and Treasurer actively engaged in a photography session with University Librarian Dr. Md. Zahid Hossain Shoeb, Library Officer, staff, and students, capturing memorable moments from the event.
