North South University Library is excited to welcome the newly admitted students of the MPPG (12th Batch) with a comprehensive Library Orientation program designed to help students navigate the wealth of resources and services available at the library. This orientation will take place on Thursday, 25 February 2025, from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM at the NSU Library Cyber and Audio Visual Section.

1. NSU Library Membership: All MPPG (12th Batch) students will receive guidance on how to become a member of the NSU Library. Understanding the membership process is essential to access the library’s physical and digital collections, which are key to academic success.
2. Book Searching & Accessing Resources: Learn how to efficiently search for books, journals, and other materials within the NSU Library catalog. Students will be shown how to use the catalog for easy access to physical books, ebooks, and other reference materials.
3. RFID System for Book Issue & Return: One of the key features of NSU Library is its efficient RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) system. Students will get a demonstration on how to use the RFID system to check out and return books. This system ensures quick and smooth transactions, allowing students to focus more on their studies.
4. Online Journals & Ebook Databases: The orientation will introduce students to the various online journal subscriptions and ebook databases available at NSU Library. Learn how to search academic databases like JSTOR, Springer, and others to find peer-reviewed articles, research papers, and textbooks relevant to your studies.
5. Research Tools: Scopus, Mendeley, and Turnitin- The session will also cover specialized research tools that are critical for academic success:
   • Scopus: Learn how to use this comprehensive database to search for scholarly articles, track citations, and explore academic content across various disciplines.
   • Mendeley: Get an overview of Mendeley, a reference management tool that will help you organize and cite your research sources effectively.
   • Turnitin: Understand how Turnitin can be used to check the originality of your work and ensure academic integrity by avoiding plagiarism.
