Guidelines for Usage:

To ensure the Study Hall remains a productive and respectful space, users are expected to follow these guidelines:

General Guidelines to Use:

• Students, faculty, and staff are required to abide by all NSU codes of conduct and standards of behavior.
• Study Hall is NOT intended for non-academic or non-affiliated group meetings including any club activities.
• 10 minutes prior to closing time, students must vacate the Study Hall.
• All users/students must vacate the Study Hall when directed to by library staff or security personnel.
• Occupying any seat/table space/chair by using bags or any other items is not allowed. The items may be seized by the library staff members in the absence of the occupants.
• Library staff members and security personnel are authorized to request identification of any students in the Study Hall.
• The Library reserves the right to remove users from the study hall based on inappropriate conduct, limit future library use, and follow up with appropriate university authorities.

Group Study Hall:

• Food and beverages are not allowed in study halls.
• Chairs cannot be moved in or from the tables.
• Sitting on the table is prohibited
• Gossiping and playing any sort of cards are not allowed
• Inappropriate conduct, such as excessive noise, fighting, sleeping, or indecent behavior/gesture, is not permitted.

Quiet Study Area:

• The quiet Study Area is located beside the Group Study Hall.
• This area is intended for quiet and individual study in the carol.
• No group study or conversation is allowed here.
• Talking, cell phone use, video chat, and use of speakers are NOT allowed here.
• Besides, students/users must adhere to all the guidelines for Group Study Hall.

Failure to comply with these guidelines may result in disciplinary action, including being asked to leave the hall or referral to the university’s Proctor Office.

Support and Assistance

NSU Library staff and student volunteers are always on hand to ensure the Study Hall remains a peaceful and efficient environment. They assist with navigation, enforce rules, and address any concerns promptly. Students are encouraged to report disturbances to library officials for immediate resolution.
