The North South University (NSU) Library extends its commitment to supporting lifelong learning by allowing alumni access to its physical resources. This ensures that former students can continue to benefit from the library’s wealth of knowledge and facilities. Here’s everything you need to know about NSU Library alumni access:

Alumni Access to the Library

NSU alumni can visit the library and utilize its resources if they have been granted access to the NSU campus by the NSU Security Office or Proctor Office. Please note that the library itself does not handle campus access permissions. Alumni must coordinate with the appropriate offices to secure campus entry.

What Alumni Can Access

Once permitted on campus, alumni can access and use the following library resources:

  • Physical Resources: Alumni can explore the library’s vast collection of books, journals, magazines, and other printed materials within the premises.
  • Study Areas: Alumni are welcome to use the library’s study spaces for reading and research during their visit.

Limitations for Alumni

While the NSU Library welcomes alumni, some services are restricted to current students, faculty, and staff. Alumni should note the following:

  • No Library Membership: Alumni are not eligible for library membership.
  • No Borrowing Privileges: Items cannot be borrowed or taken outside the library premises.
  • No Online Access: Services like OpenAthens, Grammarly Premium, or access to other subscription-based digital resources are unavailable to alumni.

How to Access the NSU Library as an Alumnus

As an NSU alumnus, you can access the NSU Library to utilize its physical resources and study areas. However, accessing the library requires prior permission to enter the NSU campus, which must be obtained from the NSU Security Office or Proctor Office. The library itself does not manage campus access permissions, so you need to coordinate directly with these offices to gain approval.

Once you have campus access, you can visit the library during its regular operating hours to explore its physical resources, including books, journals, and other printed materials. Study spaces within the library are also available for your use. However, it’s important to note that alumni are not eligible for library membership, borrowing privileges, or access to online services such as OpenAthens, Grammarly Premium, or other subscription-based digital resources.

If you have any questions or need further assistance, you can contact the NSU Library at librarian@northsouth.edu or call +880255668200 ext. 1360. The NSU Library remains committed to supporting its alumni and promoting lifelong learning by offering access to its physical resources.
