Cyber & Audio Visual Center Usage Policy
Policy
The NSU Library Cyber & Audio Visual Center is a dynamic multimedia facility designed to enhance the creative teaching and learning processes at North South University. Equipped with 40 advanced computers featuring high-speed broadband internet connections, the center is ideal for a variety of academic activities, including assignment writing, coding, downloading research articles and e-books, web browsing, and map visualization. This center is conveniently situated on the 3.5th floor of the Library Building.
General rules:
- It is mandatory to fill out the required information (e.g., ID number, Signature, PC Number, Time of entry and departure) on the sign-up sheet before and after using the computers. Otherwise, the user will be responsible if any kind of incident happens in the Cyber and AV center
- Singing out is necessary if any user leaves the Cyber and AV center, even for a short time.
- No more than one person may use one computer unless otherwise specified.
- No user can occupy any PC in his or her absence, and no excuses will be taken into consideration in such cases.
- All work should be saved to a personal storage device. No information should be saved to any drive on the PCs. The library is not responsible for crashes that result in lost or unsaved works. Moreover, the Library ceanss the hard disk periodically.
- It is necessary to submit the user’s ID card to the duty officer for use on any additional devices (e.g., headphones).
- The library assumes no responsibility for damage done to a user’s disk (e.g. Infected by virus) through the use of PCs.
- The PCs of the Cyber and AV center can be used for academic and research purposes.
- Using social media platforms is strongly discouraged, except for academic purposes.
- The use of any equipment in the Cyber and AV center for illegal purposes is strictly prohibited.
- Any legal action may be taken against the user in the event of a violation of the general rules and conduct of the library.
Restrictions/Limitations:
- Violating copyright laws.
- Trying to installing any software or hardware devices on the computers without the permission of the duty officer.
- Using another person’s ID or credentials for access or invading the privacy of another person.
- Engaging in disruptive behavior to others’ concentration, including playing audio from computers and/or portable devices that can be heard by others.
- Displaying violently graphic material on the computer screen and transmitting obscene communications.
- Unplugging, removing, or otherwise modifying any equipment in the Cyber and AV center.
- Using a cell phone for conversations while using the Cyber and AV center.
- Bringing food or beverages near the computers or the computing desks.
