North South University Library Borrowing Privileges

Policy

North South University Library employs an open shelf system, allowing direct access to all resources without prior permission. This enables users to freely browse and utilize books and other library materials. For assistance in locating specific resources, a detailed collection map is available at our Collection Map. Additionally, resource availability can be checked through the NSU Library OPAC.

If you experience difficulty finding a book on the shelves, please do not hesitate to ask for assistance from our library staff. Once you are done reading, kindly leave the books on the table rather than reshelving them yourself. This ensures that books are accurately placed according to the Library of Congress Classification System by our trained staff, aiding future users in locating them easily.

Searching for Books

Dedicated book search computers are available on the 3rd and 4th floors of the library. You are also welcome to use your personal laptops or smartphones to access the NSU library OPAC.

User Categories

NSU Library services three main user categories:

  1. Faculty Members – Including Part-time, Visiting, and Core Faculty Members.
  2. Students – Subdivided into Graduate and Undergraduate Students.
  3. Administrative/Academic Staff – Ranging from Assistant Officers to Department Heads. Note: Supporting staff are not eligible for library membership.
