NSU Library Hours of Operation Policy
Policy
Welcome to the NSU Library Hours of Operation page. Here, you will find detailed information about the library’s schedule during both the normal academic semester and the off-semester breaks. Our library strives to accommodate the needs of all students, faculty, and staff by offering extensive hours and providing clear guidelines for closing procedures and after-hours policies. Whether you are planning your study sessions or need to know when to pick up or drop off materials, this page will guide you through the operational timings of the NSU Library. Please review the following sections to ensure you make the most of the library’s resources and facilities according to the established schedules.
1. General Library Hours
1.1. Semester Period:
- Saturday to Thursday: 8:00 A.M. – 10:30 P.M.
- Friday: 09:00 A.M. – 09:00 P.M.
1.2. Off-Semester Period (Semester Break):
- Please note: The library now remains open during semester breaks following normal semester operating hours.
(The NSU Library is open seven days a week, year-round. It is closed on public holidays.)
2. Closing Procedures
2.1. Pre-Closing Announcements:
- 2.1.1. A warning bell will ring 30 minutes and again 15 minutes before closing time on all library floors to alert patrons about the impending closure.
2.2. Collection of Personal Items:
- 2.2.1. Patrons must collect their bags from the designated pigeon holes at least 5 minutes before the library closes.
2.3. Evacuation of Library Premises:
- 2.3.1 All patrons must evacuate the library floors at least 5 minutes prior to the scheduled closing time. During this time, library staff will begin shutting down all lights, air conditioning, and other facilities.
3. After Hours Policy
3.1. Retrieval of Personal Belongings:
- 3.1.1. If a patron fails to collect their personal belongings from the pigeon hole before the library closes, they must retrieve them on the following day.
- 3.1.2. No bags or personal items will be handed over to patrons after the library has closed.
This policy ensures that the NSU Library operates efficiently and maintains a safe and orderly environment for all patrons and staff. Compliance with these guidelines is mandatory for all who utilize library facilities.
