Personal Book Use Guidelines

Policy

The North South University Library recognizes the diverse academic needs of its students and faculty, including the occasional necessity to utilize personal books within the library premises. To accommodate this need while maintaining a controlled and scholarly environment, the library has established specific guidelines for the use of personal books. These guidelines ensure that personal books are used responsibly and only under circumstances that align with the library’s operational priorities and space availability.

Personal Book Use Guidelines:
  • Only in case of urgency and scarcity of spaces in the Study Hall, the library officials may allow the students/library users to enter personal books.
  • Permission of the designated officer is required to bring any personal book to the library.
  • Only one (1) book is allowed. In case of two (2), the designated officer will check the suitability or need.
  • A form/slip must be filled out with the book’s title, student’s ID number, signature and date. The form needs to be authorized by a designated officer.
  • The authorized form must be carried with you until you stay in the library and submitted to the gatekeepers before leaving. At any time, the users must be bound to show the form/slip mentioning the details filled out.
  • Personal books for any purpose other than academic and research are strongly discouraged.
  • Personal books should be kept under users’ supervision at all times and not left unattended in study areas or common spaces.
  • The library may not be liable for any loss or damage to personal books brought into the library.
  • Understand that library personnel may use their own authority to enforce personal book usage regulations based on the library’s needs and priorities.
